Register
It’s easy to join us this summer! Print out the paper registration below and mail it to our office. You will want to apply early to increase your chances of reserving a spot in your preferred classes, and to give yourself ample time to prepare for being on campus. Shortly after you register, we will send you a confirmation e-mail with information about how to start your UCI career during Summer Session.
Steps to Register for FSSP
Please note that FSSP runs independently from SPOP (Student Parent Orientation Program). Choosing to participate in FSSP is not a substitute for your required participation in SPOP, nor does your participation in FSSP give you priority for any specific SPOP dates. Please make sure you plan accordingly and sign up for your desired SPOP date as early as possible. Visit the SPOP website for more information about SPOP signup and dates.
| Step 1 | Submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). You must be an admitted UCI student planning to attend UCI. |
| Step 2 | If you are planning on taking any math, chemistry, physics, writing or foreign language courses during FSSP, then you should make sure to take the required Placement Exams as soon as possible. By taking your placement exams soon, you will know what courses (in the above subject areas) to take during FSSP. For more information about Placement Exams, please visit the UCI Academic Testing Office website. |
| Step 3 | Visit the Academics page to choose your desired courses for FSSP. Note: If you are enrolling solely in Writing 39A or Writing 39AP, you do not need to visit the Academics page. |
| Step 4 | Submit your completed, signed FSSP Registration Form to the UCI Summer Session office along with your payment* by July 15, 2009. FSSP Registration Forms submitted after July 15 will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. WRITING 39A or WRITING 39AP STUDENTS: If you have received a special invitation to enroll in Writing 39A or Writing 39AP this summer, you must use this special FSSP Registration Form. If you plan to be on campus during the week, you may drop the form off in person (Building #231 on the UCI campus map). You may also mail your FSSP Registration Form to: UCI Summer Session*Payment for housing is not included with this Registration Form: See Step Four |
| Step 5 | Look for a confirmation email from the UCI Summer Session office. This email will confirm your enrollment in the Program, and in the courses you have selected. You should expect to receive this email within 5 business days from the time we receive your Registration. |
| Step 6 (Optional) |
If you desire FSSP housing, you must apply and pay for this via a separate housing application as soon as you have received your FSSP Registration confirmation by email. To reserve your housing, please visit the FSSP Housing page for additional details. |
| Step 7 (Optional) |
If you would like to be considered for summer financial aid, you must complete a 2008-2009 FAFSA, and the UCI Summer Financial Aid Application by June 6, 2009. In order to be eligible for summer aid, please also keep in mind that you must enroll in a minimum of six (6) units. Please note that the 2008-2009 FAFSA that is required for summer aid is a prior year form and is different than the 2009-2010 FAFSA that you may have already completed for Fall financial aid.
