It’s easy to join us this summer! You will want to apply early to increase your chances of reserving a spot in your preferred classes, and to give yourself ample time to prepare for being on campus. Shortly after you register, we will send you a confirmation e-mail with information about how to start your UCI career during Summer Session.

Step 1 Submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). You must be an admitted UCI student planning to attend UCI. Submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). You must be an admitted UCI student planning to attend UCI.
Step 2 Visit the Transfer Summer Start Academics page to choose your desired courses for the Transfer Summer Start Program. In order to sign up for the Transfer Summer Start Program, you must first attend your summer transfer student advising session.

Each School holds summer advising sessions (usually held in June or July) to help new transfer students prepare their schedules. You should have gotten information in the mail regarding how to enroll in one of the sessions. If you did not receive this information, you need to contact the Undergraduate Counseling Office in your School for more information.
Step 3 Fax copies of all your transcripts to the UCI Summer Session office (949-824-7477), along with a copy of your completed Transfer Summer Start Registration Form.

Unofficial transcripts are sufficient, but we will need these records even if you have already sent them to the UCI Admissions office.
Bring a printed copy of theTransfer Summer Start Registration Form to your transfer student advising session, and discuss your desired Transfer Summer Start course enrollments with your academic counselor.

Make sure to have your academic counselor sign your Transfer Summer Start Registration Form.
Remaining steps are the same for all students
Step 4 Submit your original, completed and signed, Transfer Summer Start Registration Form to the UCI Summer Session office along with your payment* by the appropriate due date. Transfer Summer Start Registration Forms submitted after the due date will be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

You may drop the form off in person during the week (Building #231 on the UCI campus map).

Step 5 Look for a confirmation email from the UCI Summer Session office. This email will confirm your enrollment in the Program, and in the courses you have selected.
Step 6

If you desire housing, you must apply and pay for this via a separate housing application as soon as you have received your Transfer Summer Success Registration confirmation by email. To reserve your housing, please visit the Housing page for additional details.
Step 7
(Optional)
If you would like to be considered for summer financial aid, you must complete a 2008-2009 FAFSA, and the UCI Summer Financial Aid Application by June 6, 2009. In order to be eligible for summer aid, please also keep in mind that you must enroll in a minimum of six (6) units.

Please note that the 2008-2009 FAFSA that is required for summer aid is a prior year form and is different than the 2009-2010 FAFSA that you may have already completed for Fall financial aid.
