While now a modern city, Kyoto, originally the seat of Japan’s Imperial Court, still is home to temples and zen gardens, kimono merchants, geishas, and, in July, one of the most famous festivals in Japan: Gion Matsuri. Immerse yourself in iconic, historic, Japan while developing an understanding of Japan’s relations with the west, its culture, and the role it plays today in the world economy.
